Every time DC tries to do Marvel humor It comes across Joel Schumachery

I guess DC needs to stick with dark themes. Nolan recreated the DC universe, and there is no going back. Marvel is Super Nintendo and DC is Sega Genesis. The fans were wrong. Let DC remain dark and let Marvel remain light.

I was thinking the same thing after seeing Lex. 

Witty remarks aren't limited to Marvel movies and have been done with lots of success in DC movies (see Alfred and Bruce's interactions in Nolan's Batman movies) but it takes skill to deliver it effectively. Add a little bit and it lightens the mood and says "Hey, we're not taking ourselves too seriously" do too much of it and it says "We're a wacky movie, look at how funny we can be"

That was long before, I meant more recent. Which is why I said Nolan recreated the DC universe.

Tim Burton's movies had plenty of humor, even camp.

Reeve's Superman had lots of humor.

When you hire bad writers EVERY time out it'll show in every aspect but especially humor.

What's the old phrase... death is easy it's humor that's hard.

reply

Yep!

I'm betting Joel Schumacher is still on the WB's payroll. They seem to like to hire idiots for life.

reply

lol! It definitely seems that way.
