2008: The Year Iron Man got his butt kicked by The Dark Knight
2009: The Year MCU was afraid to release a movie
2010: The Year Iron Man 2 was beaten by animation and a live action Alice in Wonderland movie by Tim Burton starring Johny Depp of course.
2011: The Year That Captain America couldn't get in the Top 10 movies lost to: Harry Potter 8, Transformers 3, Hangover 2, Pirates 4, Fast 5, Fast Animation Cars, Mission Impossible 6(or 7? Who can keep track at this point?), Sherlock Holmes 2, Thor also beat Captain America? Well I mean in a fight it's not a contest but seriously? Planet of the Apes 2...
2012: The Year Marvel won the Box office by putting every single hero in a single movie and having them fight.
2013: The Year Iron Man 3 lost to Hunger Games and Thor 2 failed to crack the top 10 because of animated movies, Fast and Furious 6(What there's a sixth fast and furious movie? Really?) and Man of Steel
2014: The Year Captain America got beat by a talking tree and a green blue and purple alien? And they lost to the worst Hunger Games movie ever and also a movie about a soldier killing a bunch of people. Americaaa F%&$&# yeah!
Are we done yet? No? Geez it's almost 2017 already?
2015: The Year that the Avengers sequel beat Fast 7(WTF there's a 7th Fast and Furious movie?) Hunger Games finally freaking over movie and the animated movie about feelings. But it failed to beat Star Wars, duh. Also failed to beat Jurassic Park 4.
2016: The Year that Captain America failed to beat Finding Nemo 2? What they didn't find him in the first movie?
After GoT finale credits, Nymeria drags Lady Stoneheart to land. It is known.
Ha, ha, ha... Still doesn't change the fact DCEU got destroyed this year. Where are the DC movies most of these years, oh wait, what movies? Oh yes, Green Lantern, ha, ha, ha. The butthurt shows, pain killers for you.
FROM:"Save me Batman, please, save me" WB and MOS TO:"Save me Product Placement, save me" WB and BvS
How are they destroyed. A movie making nearly 900 million dollars and SS now having made nearly 740 million and still going is not being destroyed.
"I will not be strong armed by threats against my laundry"
DCEU got destroyed? Doesn't look that way according to box office receipts.
DC has three films so far: Man of Steel (mixed reviews), BVS (fans enjoyed, critics panned), and Suicide Squad (fans enjoyed critics panned).
Let's compare to the MCU's first three films in their respective franchise. Iron Man (modern masterpiece), The Incredible Hulk (mixed reviews), and Iron Man 2 (critics enjoyed, fans hated).
Now let's move onto what each of the first three films of both franchises made worldwide:
DC:
Man of Steel - $668 Million
BVS - $873.3 Million
Suicide Squad - $739 Million
Marvel:
Iron Man - $585.2 Million
The Incredible Hulk - $263 Million
Iron Man 2 - $623.9 Million
Also, referencing Green Lantern (which isn't part of the DCEU) is cheap. DC fans could do the same thing with Punisher War Zone, Daredevil, Elektra, and Howard The Duck.
ALSO, just to clarify, I enjoy both Marvel and DC.
The OP is clearly talking about 2016 and you bring Iron Man? Seriously? From 2008? Being so butthurt makes you not think straight? He wasn't even comparing this two crappy movies to Marvel but movie in genera, but your insecurity made you bring marvel movies from a different decade to compare.
Sorry, the fact is that DCEU got destroyed this year (2016 if you are dumb enough to understand) by cartoons and Marvel. I know it hurts. Live with

Are you too simple to understand that I was comparing franchises as a whole? The MCU has crossed the the one billion dollar mark with Civil War, but with 12 movies in the franchise before it. BVS was almost there, but with only 1 movie set before it.
You're comparing a well-established franchise that came up with very little competition, to just one beginning. And to say it got destroyed this year is pretty ridiculous considering BVS alone has grossed more than ANY Marvel film excluding Civil War (which, again, had TWELVE movies building it up).
You started comparing the two franchises, don't get mad when someone else does. Especially when you don't have the intelligence level to understand why someone would dare to compare the financial draw or Man of Steel to Iron Man.
Also, the reason I brought up Hulk, Punisher War Zone, Daredevil, & Elektra was to prove a point. You brought up Green Lantern (a total failure critically and commercially, from years ago, that has nothing to do with the current timeline). You really shouldn't act like such a petty hypocritical bitch about it.
Anyways, I really think that you should take a couple writing courses, and perhaps a take a lesson in punctuation and maybe see a doctor. I shouldn't assume that the reason your mindless drivel comes nowhere near the point of an actual, well-thought out argument, but there is so much anger and confusion in your posts, one must assume that you're in dire need of either A) a lobotomy or B) an industrial sized vat of hemorrhoidal cream to help ease all of your butthurt, or C) a simple but efficient means of suicide. Now I'm sure one with your personality and intelligence level, finding & retaining employment must come with extreme difficulty, but, I'm sure that if you have your mother help you set up a Kickstarter or a GoFundMe page that you'll have your much needed solution in a matter of hours.

You can and should compare the big two in terms of box office gross, especially when the troll before you is bringing up Green Lantern (a flop that has nothing to do with the current continuity, which only came out a year after Iron Man 2).
Why is fine to point out that Green Lantern was flop, knowing it's not pertinent to the current argument, but not accept that the DCEU's first three films outgrossed the MCU's, even when adjusting the basically nonexistent inflation? Only fanboys would say a pair of record-breaking films would call that being destroyed.
Iron Man may not have been a household name to general audiences when he was introduced, but the Hulk was, and by Iron Man 2, everyone and their mother was familiar with him.
This is why I can enjoy both studios films and comics. Choosing one over the other only makes you look at any and all results with rose-tinted glasses.
To be clear, I hated the BVS theatrical cut, and was disappointed by Suicide Squad. But when general audiences are giving them both hundreds of millions dollars a piece, it's hard to say that they were destroyed this year. Neither of them were as good Civil War or Ant Man (which I *beep* adored). But that doesn't mean they were destroyed. DCEU is doing just fine, financially.
I should also point out that I am a fan of both. This isn't some anti-Marvel agenda. I just HATE this one-sided, ridiculous Fanyboyism. I mean besides Batman and The Flash, my top ten favorite comics right now are mostly Marvel titles, give or take a couple Image titles.

My life has major plot holes.
2008: The year Marvel put at risk everything to made this movie. You know, if they failed, there would be no Marvel at all.
2009: Thank god, they didn't rush it.. like some Studios *cough*
2010: Yep it was beaten, because it was not as good as the first one, and even if it has been, still wouldn't beat Alice. Plus, how Jonah Hex do that year?
2011: Yeah, origin story about Captain America looses to franchises that were if not 3rd of 4th part, at least got a sequel... very good comparison. Yeah, Green Lantern... where are you?
2012: The Year Marvel won the box office, because they were patient and build up to this moment.
2013: I forgot, sometimes only domestic counts for box office arguments.. its ok!. You can compare MoS to Thor 2 but not to Iron Man 3? Hypocrisy? Didn't frozen stomp MoS ass? Who would guess 3 years later animations would stomp not only Superman, but the Trinity ass.
2014: Where did DC movies go? They got Scared because Superman can't compete with Iron Man?
2015: I think anyone who though Episode 7 would be beaten by anything were crazy. What was more crazy was that some though BvS would outgross it. Hey, where are the DC movies this year btw?
2016: The year that only domestic counts :D good for you Dori!
So Was I!

Wait are you saying suicide suad should have made more than it did? Suicide Squad is a movie with a lot of characters that the GA probably do not even know about and has suicide in the title. The fact that it made almost as much as Deadpool with *beep* reviews and no China is pretty amazing. You are just being delusional if you say that and I did not even like Suicide Squad(check my ratings).
None of those were made by Marvel.
Bahaha , lame azz OP got owned by that weasel dude. That *beep* got deep into your azz hahaha
shareIf DC got destroyed what happened to Sony?
shareForget Marvel. The WB was beaten by themselves. They have no one to blame but themselves. When you make crap movies, this is what you get.
Plan?...There ain't no plan!!
