The Worst film Kevin Smith has made
Anyone agree?
I just love film.
Absolutely. I love everything Smith. I've watched all of his "evenings" multiple times, I listen to Smodcast, I've seen him live a couple times, just went to a Q&A screening of Red State, etc. Even 'Jersey Girl,' which was his previously worst film, wasn't actually that bad. Yeah, it was cornball at times, but sometimes Kev has to rise above the toilet humour and he did something heartfelt. Not a great film, but not bad.
This, honestly, was just bad. Scenes were poorly done, Willis wasn't even trying, Morgan was annoying (I can only stand him in short bursts on 30 Rock), Seann William Scott was infuriating, the story was stupid, etc. I mean, had Kevin Smith written a buddy cop movie and made it, it probably could've been really funny. But, he directed someone else's work and that's what was a failure. Smith even considers himself a poor director, but a good writer. So. . . why do this? I mean, I know why he did it. . . but, why do this specific movie? Why not just work on a good script or pick a better one of someone else's to direct? Disappointment beyond any other.

I thought the film was excellent I don't understand why so many people hate it.
shareEveryone does, including Kevin Smith if you've seen him live or at any of the more recent Q&A panels.
He uses it for a "refund bit" that he seems to repeat in appearances, but even he admits that it's crap.
