Even the throwback score they hyped up sucked

im a big Kevin Smith fan, i hate hating his work. He hyped up the old school throwback 80s synth score... it sucked just as much as the rest of the movie. horrible.

Too flipping right man! Im watching it now and its just pure cheese, something you would download for a final edit of an OTT Student Film Project.Script also was extremely terrible.

I kinda dug the score. I mean its HAROLD FALTERMYEER!! The guy that gave us Axel F. and the score to Fletch, I thought it was a pretty good coup that Kevin Smith got him to score this.

Yeah I can't blame him for thinking that was a good idea. But the end result was awful. This "score" blows. It hardly even sounds like a score, just random discarded cheesy hip hop beats and Sega video game music.

If it sounds like Sega video game music, then it's really good

Particularly at the very end of movie as credits begin - horrible!

It was really dodgy.I couldn't believe it was the same guy that did Beverly Hills Cop all those years ago when I saw his name in the credits at the end.
Movie was all right, I heard it was terrible but it had its moments.

Well it couldn't have sucked because while I was watching it the music reminded me of those 80's and early 90's action sorta comedy movies.

So if the composer was aiming for that he succeeded, at least with me.

actually i kind of liked the music.... one of the better things about the film.

Is THAT what they were going for? An 80s style action movie score? I'm shocked that Harold Faltermyer did this! First of all it lacks a great catchy theme. Even the score to the little known Chrstian Slater movie Kuffs had a better score than this, even though it was just a repeat of the Beverly Hills Cop score.

It sounded like he was trying to be contemporary and the whole score ended up sounding like crappy modern R&B and Hip-Hop beats.

Shame Michael Kamen isn't around anymore.

Nah the score was perfect, the best part of the movie by far. I mean Faltmeyer did the score, so either he doesn't know what he's doing, or you're wrong. I gotta side with Faltmeyer over some random imdb user on this one.

Seems more that you just personally didn't like it than it was objectively not a realistic 80s buddy cop movie score...
