50/50 vs. Superhero and why Superhero wins

this one is by far the best one of the two. I am a HUGE Joseph Gordin Levitt fan, i will watch anything he is in including 50/50. Although Joseph was great in 50/50, Seth Rogen, i believe, was not a right fit for the role. Yes, he was a comedic relief role but it was played poorly by Seth.

Anyway, between the two films, Death of a Superhero wins by a mile. This film was more realistic then 50/50. With 50/50 the characters we're too heightened and unbelievable while in Superhero, they were portrayed so perfectly without any over the top non sense. It was as if the film was more of what could really happen to a real life 15 year old boy with cancer as opposed to being a comedy/drama view on the topic.

Watch this film, it truely is a great flcik with great actors, Donald (Thomas Brodie Sangster) was amazing amazing amazing. The film has some funny parts to cut the drama a bit but they're nicely placed around the film and not so much in your face.

Fun fact:
50/50 is based on a true story where Joseph Gordon Levitt plays the role of Seth Rogen's real life friend who had to deal with cancer, and Seth Rogen helping him along the way.

So Seth Rogen was technically the most perfect fit for a role you could have.

he still played it poorly.

Well if it's based on a true story in which SR is basically playing himself... maybe it just says something about SR himself. =/

I think 50/ 50 was intended to be a melodemy (melodramatic comedy) whereas DOAS was meant to be "real".

I think they both did a good job, and there's no need, nor common ground for comparison.

Death of a superhero is a true story too!
