Clearly people didn’t understand it

Fat porn. I can stay home & watch me eat KFC

I have zero respect for actors who make awardsy artsy-fartsy movies using prosthetics, getting fat or thin. Or play mentally ill person. Its cheating.

If you cant deliver good acting without hiding for something then you are bad actor. Nothing about Brendan, he seems like a nice guy. But he acted his whole life and never did anything interesting. Then put on fat suit to look pathetic and sad and voila - he is good actor.... Thats cheating.

People just see famous actor in fat suit and think its acting. If regular overweight actor would play the same role - no one would even notice.

There is old DiCaprio movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape. And there was actual obese woman who played his mother. And she was good. She got zero recognition, only DiCaprio got nomination for Oscar for playing mentally ill person. If some Kidman or Bullock would put on fat suit and play that Mother - media and critics would glorify that role and say its the best thing ever and they need awards.
