What movies did the elder sibling watch?

It was pretty clear she watched a Rocky movie and Jaws. The chilling and awkward dance scene seemed to indicate Flashdance. There seemed to be other movies referenced, like when she was threatening her brother with some kind of gangster talk, possibly The Godfather? Anyone pick up on any other movie references?

I enjoyed how much watching films transformed the character.

She only took two VHS tapes, so did the parents watch non-porn movies? I was a little confused, as I initially thought she just took Jaws and Rocky, but then there were other references.

I think one of the videos must have been Flashdance going by the dance routine she was doing while her brother played the guitar

The movies you cite are correct: Rocky IV, Jaws and Flashdance. The "mob" dialogue you mention was from Rocky IV. Why she seems to be newly aware of 3 movies but there are only two videotapes i'm not sure. Maybe they were self recorded movies and 2 were on one tape?

Or maybe there were trailers in the tapes. Maybe she watched 2 movies and many trailers.

I am thinking that like the father played older sinatra albums maybe they had shown the kids something like old fred astaire films at one point... all the tap dancing and fancy turn arounds and such..

The first one was definitely Jaws. I don't know for sure what the other one was, but Christina only gave the daughter two.
