the end credits scene *SPOILER*

I do love the cliffhanger of Wickham lead the army of zombies to the wedding (praying for a sequel). But I wish it would have at least showed Elizabeth, Darcy, Jane, and Bingley prepared to kick ass instead of just standing there.

I was thinking that too. I was expecting them to draw weapons or yell for the gate to be shut or something!

reply

I laughed at the sight of the wall.
Such a huge gate and the wall was probably knee high.
Ahahaha
Closing it would have done nothing.

I hope for a sequel.
Want to see lady Catherine in full action.

Lincoln Lee: I lost a partner.
Peter Bishop: I lost a universe!

reply

Since Rosings is suppose to be the safest place anywhere I assume either there is more to that wall than there appears to be or that isn't the only gate. ;)

It is a shame we didn't get to see Lady Catherine in full action.

I honestly am crossing all fingers for a sequel I did love the movie and I think the reason why they left them there just standing is because for 1) the zombies where kinda far away, 2) they just got out of there wedding and I think it came out as a shock, and for 3) I think they left it like that because there not sure be if they want a sequel, but I'm still hoping for one. I will most likely be heart broken without a sequel

I just saw the movie and literally thought the exact same thing! (Posted it in another tread too before reading this one).

Just a cool "movie poster" shot of the two couples backed by the sisters, Catherine and maybe a few other stars all in combat mode to say "well, bring it on then, zombies!" Would have been a fitting final shot. As it is, it feels like the movie just runs out.

Shows how important choosing your final shot is!

(And up until then,mI kept trying to figure out how Wickham was killed and thinking how anticlimactic it was!)

reply

I would love a sequal or to do some of the other books in this twist, but I thought the ending was a little bit cheesy.

reply

Yeah they all should have grabbed a weapon and did a pose Mortal Kombat style.

Lose the Game!!!!!!!

exactly my though when watching that scene, found it weird that they didn't.

The fact that they don't draw their swords makes me think it's an everyone dies at the end finish. But that's a pretty terrible way to do that. If they wanted to do a shocker ending, it would have been better to have revealed at the last second that Darcy had been infected. He and Liz are about to get intimate on their honeymoon. His undressing reveals zombie scars. He lunges at her. Not the route I would have taken, but that would have been a better bad end than zombies surrounding the gates with no hope of survival.

If they were trying to bid for a sequel, then they should have had the heroes draw their swords like they were ready to fight.

The way that it is now, I don't know what to make of it and it just becomes a frustrating conclusion to an otherwise surprisingly fun film.

I just realized the opening narration mentions the entire household being wiped out. It's an "everyone dies at the end" finish.

It doesn't make sense for this movie, but this film has horror movie elements and all modern horror movies end with everyone dying. Conformist Hollywood can't do anything but follow protocol.

The opening narration refers to Mrs. Featherstone’s household at Netherfield Park.

Never was this truth more plain than in the recent attacks at Netherfield Park in which an entire household was slaughtered by a hoard of the living dead during a whist party.

It happens off-screen after Darcy takes Mrs. Featherstone’s word that there is not one else the zombie could have infected and he leaves. (This is why it was empty until Bingley rents it. When Mrs. Bennet comes to Netherfield while Jane is sick she’s saying something in the background about their getting the zombie blood out of the marble.)

At the end they are at Rosings Park and it is not a whist party.

I thought at first that the ending was meant to be the last day because the four horsemen of the zombie apocalypse are riding out with Wickham as Mr. Collins described. But when I saw others took it as setting up a sequel I thought that must be right because it didn’t seem in keeping with the tone of the movie for everyone to die at the end. I agree they should have drawn their swords or something.

reply

Ah, thanks for setting the record straight.
