Surprisingly realistic ending

Honestly I was prepared for another disappointing non-ending that every low budget movie has. Where nothing is resolved and movie just cuts in the middle of scene. Or some fake ending where it seems like everything is good and then its not.

So I was almost shocked when they actually got out of the room, alive and she even got money. And it wasnt some maniac that created that room and they did not killed each other. Not only that. But they went separate ways after he was shocked that she was ready to kill him off for money in some panic attack. Then they randomly bumped to each other and decided to walk.

Thats how things would happen in real life.

When Kate stared at the wall in shock, I thought she had noticed the counter not being accurate which would have led to the final act where they wonder if they hallucinated the counter, if they should leave or even escape if the red button didn't actually let them out. The timer did got up and not down at some point (from 23 to 31 days to go).

I thought it was weird they had never met once after Michael left the room. Are we supposed to believe this couple shared absolutely nothing in their lives that would need to be handed over after a break up?

Yes, I thought it was weird too that they had no contact at all after she got out. Neither tried to reach out and say hey are you OK, what happened, or sorry about almost killing you. Instead she just shrugs it off by saying sorry about everything, I laughed out load. It's an interesting concept and I mostly enjoyed the film, but thought it could have been much better.
