"The Book of Fanservice"

After last night's second Mandalorian incursion I was about to post what I felt but this article surmised it quite well

Considering how long it takes to make a single episode, I seriously doubt they realized viewers didn't like Boba Fett and quickly rushed through some inclusions of previous characters. I suspect they had decided what was going to happen in every episode before they started actual filming of the first one.

Real people hate Boba Fett.

HE FIRST APPEARED IN THE FUCKING HOLIDAY SPECIAL, for fuck's sake, that should give an idea to how unpopular he is!!

And if you'll recall they were already set on the next series being Boba Fett's story. It was done and dusted on the page before any fanboys started going nuts. The fact is this show is on Disney and aimed at kids that don't know shit about Star Wars beyond what their grandpas have told them about it.

That's the pity, Star Wars told a GREAT contained story, now this dead horse is being beaten to bring out more dollars for the Disney bastards.

As soon as Lucas sold it the writing was on the wall. The only thing Disney got when the bought Lucas Films was the Star Wars and Indiana Jones characters, with the billions Disney paid you knew they were going to wring every last cent from the characters to the point that any normal human would be sick at the bastardization that was going to happen. It's happened to Star Wars... Next up will be Indiana Jones which will be turned into some woke crap that makes you want to vomit. I suspect after the next Harrison Ford film they will reboot it with a transgender black man as Indiana Jones.

I get it. I am enjoying some of it, but don't disagree. Filoni is a big offender, especially with his own characters.

The entire season is wasted on basic plot lines that could have been resolved in two episodes instead of four.

As for Din Djarin, I don't mind his introduction into the story but the last two episodes got carried away with the narrative tone of the show itself. A more clever screenwriter would have written in Din's plot line and given us a reveal without mentioning or showing him only to have it presented in the next season of The Mandalorian. Otherwise, the series should have been restructured entirely making it about the Mandalore, not just Boba Fett. They could then easily craft an entire world-building of plot lines involving Boba's storyline as well as his relationship with other Mandalorians. So far the series seems stuck with resolving Boba's attempt to thward off the Spice Guild gangsters which makes this a cheap rendition of "High Noon"

I disagree, I think this show is severely lacking in the kind of quality fan service that makes that show so great. I mean Boba is bringing in cyberpunks who don't belong in SW, and "TM" brought in an extra from "TESB" and built him up to a scene-stealing character who made major contributions to the story arc! The Cantina band just isn't enough.

I had given up on this show until I heard that Luke and Mando were appearing, and now I'm caught up, and I'd never tune in again if it weren't for Mando. I mean the who is weak, but here they have Luke acting like a complete idiot and asking a toddler to choose his future! Sure, it was always clear that Leia got 99% of the brains in the family, but really, they should be showing that Luke has grown at least a little, learned a thing or two.
