A JonBenet Ramsey Joke...

Really?

reply

Yes, really.

I laughed.

It was actually funny. The little girl was all dolled up with makeup, so it was completely appropriate to reference her life... They weren't referencing her death.

You got to be atleast 30 to get that joke. How old was his character back when that whole murder mystery took place? 7, 8 ?

That's why I like these films. From the music to the jokes, it's for the older crowd. Even though the actors are younger, they always reference older things.

Notice there's not one Lady Gaga or Nickie Minaj reference? Thank God...

I'm 22 and I got the joke.

I'm 20 and I got it.

Really? You have to have lived during referenced jokes in order to understand them??? I was only like 8 or 9 when the JonBenet case happened... and I still got it... just like I would get a joke about OJ Simpson even though I was little when it happened! yeah, I wasn't aware of exactly what was going on at the time but in case you haven't heard, they are still sometimes printing stuff about JonBenet today.

I only just caught it, but yeah, I chuckled, too. Those po-faced individuals who decry such witty remarks just do not understand how real people act, talk, respond. There's a helluva lot more that's said in real life than directors could get away with in movies, and that is a shame. I believe movies should depict real life sometimes and not sanitise everything like Hollywood used to. Trains into or out of tunnels; geysers; water spouts, and so on. Besides, that comment was wryly made and in the end she, too, listened to him and became a little girl again, not a little hooker like she was aiming to become with all the slap on her face.

I always thought it was some dumb fashion queen whenever I heard that name
I only looked up the name today
It's disgusting that someone would kill a 6 year old child
They'll catch the sick son of a bitch someday
They always do

Only if they dig up the Mother's corpse..

I laughed. Appropiate joke imho.

I think that was the only joke I laughed at.

Speaking of referencing older things, I liked his comment to Slater about the creepy redrum twins from the Shining were there asking for him. For you 20 somethings....did you get that reference? The Shining is a classic but hard to gauge if it is popular enough among the younger generation for them to get that reference in this movie.

reply

No, not really. It was all a dream.
