Plot?

i remember reading the book and not liking it much...it's a bit "essex boys"

a petty crim getting a bit of a leg up, becoming a player dealing drugs and women in the east end of london in the eighties...a bit of a sexy beast (that must be tom's character then heehee) who's shagging left right and centre...
then there is a certain family friction..his devoted but jealous, alcoholic, slutty wife, rotten relationship with his dad...his younger cousin who he's introduced to the game outstripping him, his fancy for his cousin's pretty, ambitious wife who is also his sister-in law, a nutty son and his affair with the sister of a criminal mastermind who's pulling all the strings from inside.

there's the basics...and even though i didn't like the book, i'll still be watching it...tommy, you kinow...i'd pay to hear him read a phone book out loud.....ahhh

Based on the brilliant novel by Martina Cole, set in London's east end.
