I think Hardy was brilliant throughout. I really believed his psychopathic character.
However, I felt the ending was such a let down. There was no dramatic climax and Jimmy wasn't remotely convincing as a newly-turned bloody killer and gang leader! Frankie's death scene wasn't executed particularly well either. Maggie showed too little emotion in their little 'chat' about little Jimmy before she stabbed him; her sudden action wasn't convincing (although I predicted she'd be the one who killed him from ep. 2). And how would two women manage to clean up all that blood and dispose of a weighty man's body without being caught!? Ep. 3 promised us a big ending, but we didn't get it.
I felt a little let down with the end.
The build up was such a slow burn and the end a bit "Crash, Bang, Wallop". I thought about the same things Jennifer. Freddie was a big fella and getting him up stairs, into a car, getting him away AND cleaning up AND getting stories sorted would have been a big, big task.
I'm getting the word 'Nonce'

I agree with the OP about Tom Hardy. He made me believe he was a psycho, he was brilliant in this, i hated his character so much! - Therefore his acting was very successful.
I thought a lot more would have happened in the end - but what happened was totally unexpected for me. I didn't think Maggie would keep it a secret from Jimmy. But then, it showed what sort of things can happen in this world, because of people's paranoia or not being 'in the know' (See what i did there, Martina fans ;) ) about certain things. Ozzy died for nothing, just because Jimmy didn't know who had bumped Freddie off, so got paranoid about Ozzy and decided he was next in line for the chop.
Overall, brilliant little drama. Would have liked it to have lasted longer. Coudl do with more of the nitty gritty true British drama's.

Hi LuvHisChi =)
Yeah, i really hope so. I hope this has shown to be successful in ratings and what-have-you - although it was on Sky 1. I feel more people may have seen it if it were on Channel 4, they did have quite a good advertising campaign though!
I'm thinking they might choose another of Martina's books, and make a series, a ncie long one. One can only hope/dream ! :)
