... the only thing wrong with it is there is no suspense. You can tell what is going to happen to a character because the direction telegraphs it so far in advance. The question is not IF someone is going to get murdered/hit/raped etc. but HOW.

*SPOILERS*

For example, in episode two, you knew as soon as Jimmy left his home that Freddie was going to break in and commit the rape; in episode three from the moment that Desmond was walking alone with Freddie on the dock, it was obvious that Freddie was going to kill him.

Apart from this, the direction, acting, etc. is all great. Tom Hardy is an amazing actor.

I read your thread, Zeb, and I agree with most of it. The preview thing, in particular, is almost comical - twists and plot turns are all but given away!

I'm sure you can allow your hubby to be right about something ... just this once! ;-)

Yes, you are right. But it didn't bother me... once the characters are developped, the story has a sort of inevitability.. that goes for the individual scenes as well, like the ones you mentioned. They're all caught up in this mud-stream of violence.
