Music change on the DVD version

I recieved the DVD today, and re-watched the Series tonight, and noticed during Episode 1 ( When Freddie is walking through the strip club to meet Sidy) that the track "Madame Butterfly" by Malcolm McClaren has been removed... replaced by some un-known tune that doesn't even compare!

Shame, I hate it when that happens. It's all to do with copyright nonsence...

Oh Christ!! I've just re-watched the Episode 2, during the scene/montage of Maggie's hen do and the boy's stag do, and see they've taken out Frankie Knuckle's "Your Love", replaced with some crappy tune in it's place.

Damn, I really hate it when this happens! It takes away from the show.

It's ruined the experience of re-watching it, if I'm being honest. Why can't they just leave it alone?! I don't unerstand why there allowed to use certain songs on television release, but not on DVD release! Crazy.

I never saw Episodes 3 & 4 on TV, just on DVD, so can't say if any songs have been changed on those. Anyone seen both versions and noticed differences?

Just finished watching the DVDs and was sort of bemused at the soundalike music throughout the entire series. Surprised, then, in the commentary extras, to hear about Bananarama in the bank depot robbery scene. Because that was definitely on the DVD. It was all fake pop instrumentals, meant to evoke other sounds (Blue Monday ...vaguely... at the rave scene). Kinda cheapened the whole production IMHO although finding out that was removed for clearance for the DVD makes me wonder. Nice that the thought about the music but a bummer they wouldn't pony up to make the DVD as good an experience.
