How is the story in the book different from the show?
I should have known those alien maggots booby trapped this sub.
From the top of my head, in the book:
Maggie does not kill Freddie (IIRC, it is Jimmy who does this?) And Jimmy is a lot more harder in the book (found him pretty weak and laid back in the show.)
Jackie doesn't survive.
Ozzy doesn't die (can't actually remember if this is the case or not.)
The guy (his name is on the tip of my tongue, he works for Ozzy and Jimmy and he's black) doesn't get pushed off the cliff by Freddie.
Maggie is not pregnant by the end of it (can't remember if this is the case either..)
Freddie and Jackie have like six or seven kids between them (only two were shown in the TV show??)
There's loads more but that's all I can think of right now.
