Is the book worth it?

Okay,I've been thinking about getting the book.I know I said this show was crap, but usually the book is better than the show or movie and Revenge of the Sith is living proof of that.So is the book worth it?Is it better than the show? And if so,how is it better?

if you didn't like the show then why would you bother with the book?

Have you read any of Martina Cole's other work?

I answered your question with another question.

Why would you even bother to consider reading a book from a television production you hated??????

Well,I was really just curious about the differences in the book.Like whether or not Maggie gets raped by Freddie, which I didn't like at all.In fact it seems kinda stupid that he even KNOW where she was!!!I mean if he had asked Jimmy(or anyone else)where she was, people would get suspicious.

Plus I feel that Freddie should have been killed much sooner in the story and never had the chance to rape anyone.

Maggie gets raped by Freddie in the book too (the scene in the book is even worse), it's a crucial part of the story. It's not that odd that Freddie knew where Maggie was: He knew that Jimmy went to Amsterdam, and he knew where Maggie and jimmy lived. And he obviously saw that the lights were on that night, so he knew that Maggie was home.

The whole story is about Freddie, and his relationship with all the other characters. It wouldn't make any sense if he got killed in the beginning.

To me the book seems even grittier than the movie. I wouldn't recommend it to you.

Well even though it IS a crucial part of the story it just didn't feel right.I think that after the Ecstasy deal the Turkish drug dealers would target Freddie and anyone working with him. They would feel that Ozzy betrayed them and would find a way to get to him even though he's in prison. At the end only Maggie,Jackie and lil Freddie are left alive.
Now THAT would be a more realistic story.

Yes the book is worth it. Simple answer. It is a million times better than the series and a lot of the things you hate about the series are better explained and the ending is much much better
