Smoking

Is It Just Me Or Does Every Cut Scene Have To Show Someone Taking A Long Drag On A Fag?

What Looked Quite Promising Has Somewhat Dissapointed. As A Previous Poster Commented Its Just Oh So Predictable And We've Seen It All Before.

I assume smoking was pretty popular in the 80's980's more people smoke back then i guess, as it was more "socially acceptable" compared to now...

And don't all gangsters smoke...;( hee.

Smoking was big here in the UK in the 80s and the 90s... its only recently that its beeen really pushed away from the acceptable.

Smoking is used a lot in this, but I think sets the tone nicely. A lot of the scenes we see are in pubs where people would smoke all the time... I also can't help but watch Freddie smoke, its just he way he does it it looks very different, like he breathes it in.

I very much doubt that the characters depicted in The Take give a monkeys whether smoking is socially acceptable! Rape, murder and GBH aren't exactly "socially acceptable".

Not as disappointing as your post, with a capital letter infront of every word typed.

Heheheheee, sorry. =)

As stated, smoking was highly acceptable during that era. It's only been in the last 2 years that smoking here in the UK has been pushed out.

Oh, here it is. The obligatory wail about the amount of smoking in a period program. Sniffle, sniffle. Yeah, that's pretty much the way it was; unfettered graphic violence in so much of current TV/film and all the whiners pick up on are the characters smoked a dirty, nasty, smelly ol' cigarette.
