Which actually makes me appreciate those movies alittle bit more.

I just finished watching the latest Tomb Raider and thought is was awesome. I'm not big into adventure movies, but I enjoyed this tremendously. It has surprisingly really good cinematography, and some shots were picture-perfect poster worthy.
Alicia Vikander (sp?) suprised me with this performance, and I loved the more realistic/grittiness of Lara Croft compared to Jolie. I appreciated how she was tough and shredded, yet still feminine and vulnerable.
Great performance, fun movie, imo. I do hope they make a sequel and bring back Alicia.
Jolies movies biggest flaw was that Lara was written as utter asshole and the movies made you hate the character. So i dont really see them as much "fun".
shareNever hated the character as Jolie played it. I just thought the writing was really dumb for those movies. But here, the script is just paint-by-numbers and Vikander isn't terrible necessarily. But she's bland, a blank slate. Someone else like Rebecca Ferguson or Hayley Atwell would had been amazing casting.
