So bascially this movie was unnecessary...

If Lara wasn't so stupid and listened to her father to burn Himiko documents like the good girl she should have been. 7 years in hiding faking his own death and monitoring their progress only to have it ruined by that woman. She then risks the fate of the world to save her father only to lose him at the end too. Not only was she beyond dumb, she smiled at the end to say oh look, more adventure after another dumb blunder I made by signing the rights of Croft Holdings to the Trinity spy/leader.

I'm guessing in the next movie she's going to make more dumb mistakes, put more people in danger then has to fix the shit mess she's made from another cryptic message that tells her not to go but her lust for adventure and ruining everything will make her do it anyway so she can just fix it after more deaths around her.

At least they gave her the iconic pistols back after the bow & arrow I could avoid everyone phase.

You're better off watching the game movie instead as its premise is more in line with Lara not being so stupid but follows the same setting of the Himiko queen.

Let's compare this with the game that is supposed to be based on

In the game, she don't go to find Yamatai, nothing to do with her father,he was killed by trinity in the reboots.

reply

Yeah, they made her a daddy's little fragile girl in this movie whereas in the game she was an independent female adventurer that got capsized along the way.

Yep,this is hollywood after all😒

We don't know whether her father would ever have had the opportunity to escape the island or that the Trinity team would have left the island after deciding their search was was fruitless. I don't don't think he could have kept up his diversionary activity forever. If they figured out where to go and how to get in no-one could stop them leaving with their prize. Then a potential catastrophe would occur affecting maybe millions regardless of whether or not Lara bumbled into a situation not properly prepared.

Lara intervened probably at the moment that Trinity was close to finding the virus "container" and helped foil their plans in time. After signing the estate deed she also had the contextual info to discover that Trinity was connected to her estate and seemingly free to carry out nefarious projects and no doubt well funded by the estate. Without her discovery of Trinity's activity earlier she would have been oblivious to the significance of the name of a company among many in the estate's business documents.

Heh, necessary.

Like anyone NEEDS movies or video games, or movies about video games.
