I think this could have been structured to have reveals dolled out on an episodic basis. Definitely several seasons of unveiling the mystery of the gorge, the history behind it, their developing their relationship, and how the government/corporate ties in and their experiments. Cool premise that got sloppy at the end.

Ugh. While I understand your logic, I feel like Hollywood is already going overboard with turning everything into a series. There have been so many times when I've seen a trailer and been like "Hey, that looks cool!" and then I find out it's a series and immediately lose interest. Sometimes I just want to watch a complete story in two hours instead of 10.
