First Season

Dave Filoni has a history of delivering sort of fun stuff, with few moments of brilliance and lots of fan service.

Ahsoka is his baby, and since he wrote the entire season, one can clearly see the writing is the problem. His knowledge of Star Wars is second to none, however I don't think he took the lessons from George and applied it to his work. It seems he took ideas, and then went his own way.

This show is ok. It's sort of fun, but it does not feel like Star Wars. On the surface it clearly is Star Wars, but it's not. The Mandalorian and Andor feel like Star Wars.

Lucasfilm need to hire better writers. Good thing a variety of directors are involved in this show, however better writing will elevate this show.

Huyang is a fun character, enjoyed him a lot. Enoch was also interesting, and has a fantastic voice. Voiced by Wes Chatham, no less, from The Expanse. Ray Stevenson was great to watch.

Zombies in Star Wars is a terrible idea. Filoni has had some howlers in terms of ideas, and this is another one.

Great seeing the Night Sisters. Thrawn is not impressive. He's supposed to be intimidating, brilliant and ruthless yet with subtlety and he was not in this. He was not impressive at all.

Filoni is just doing his own thing. It's really disappointing. He seriously needs to take a page out of George's book, and step back. He would do great as an executive producer, and let the specialists do their thing.

I'll probably watch Season 2, purely out of curiosity.
