So.... How come no one ever gets their busybody A$S handed to them????

There's something fishy here. You can't go around getting all up in other peoples business and being a busybody like the "bystanders" on this show and somebody not try you out. It's true.

Maybe they edit it out when that happens.

I think they do edit out when that happens. Notice how happy they are to rush out and congratulate someone who gets in other people's business. I think they want to encourage all of the viewers to do that. Showing bad outcomes would just make people think twice before getting involved, which they should do anyway. And the show would be criticized for setting up situations that got people hurt or in some kind of trouble.

Yeah, I'm thinking you're probably right. I think it's pretty obvious to anyone who's seen the show that they have an agenda to push, part of that agenda being that it's O.K to be a busybody, listen in on peoples conversations, and then poke your nose in their business,Then, like you said, they want to jump out of the bushes and congratulate them, like they've don't something really commendable. I'm certain that at some point, their little plan has gone bad, but they'll never show it. I mind my own business not so much out of fear, but because it's the right thing to do. I wouldn't want some stranger getting all up in my business, people just don't know how to conduct themselves these days.

I see minding your own business but sometimes people involve you in that business...they're loud, not conducting themselves properly... Mainly all of this would be an annoyance to me and I'd tell them all to shut the hell up.

All they are doing is getting viewers so that way they can make a profit. Kind of like the kinds of corporations that Conservatives support and when asked why they do not pay a living wage, they say "business are for profit, not to pay well."

Better watch out, better start crying. Better hurry up, run and hide. Krampus is coming to town! >:)

In real life, yes. But, this is a show and it is highly controlled. The main players are all actors and the producers have other people pretending to be customers standing around in case anything gets out of hand.

Only the dupe in each episode is a real person who is not in on the gag. And that person regularly does call out the actors on their terrible behavior. The actors, of course, don't try to start a fight, although they do defend their bad behavior.

So, who do you think is going to clock one of those busy bodies? Everyone in the room but her is an actor or security guard.

Yeah, I see your point. Something about this show and the message that it's trying to send really rubs me the wrong way. As other posters have stated, they're trying to push their little agenda. Thanks for your feedback.

Well, that's pretty much the intent of the show. They want the audience to feel uncomfortable and a little bit angry.

So, congratulations. You are their target audience and you reacted exactly the way they that wanted you to.

It is a mixture. The restaurant won't turn customers away, of course. But, many of the diners are plants that are there to keep fights from breaking out.

Unfortunately, because of TV shows like this, and other factors such as creeping Conservatism and overbearing PC-ness, many people these days feel that it is their divine duty to butt in whenever they see injustice happening.

And the worst part about that is that people use their own personal moral compass to decide when to butt in and most people have terrible morals.

People have often questioned why they rarely film segments in a minority neighborhood. Especially with the scenario last night where they have people trying to steal a bike in Portland. They've done this same scenario before, but in New Jersey I believe. They've never done it in a largely black community, though. Maybe they did, but the outcome came out differently so it was never shown.

...because the show is as fake as a bad toupee.

I think the show should be called "What Should You Do?".
