Do kids even know who Tom and Jerry are anymore?
Don't seem very relevant anymore.
sharegood point, this is prob just made for people over 40.
sharei dont even think that matters anymore. they just make anything, and the people will watch ANYTHING, so whether they know it (I doubt they know it) makes no diff. its animated, so its a thing, and parents will buy it to zombify their kids with.
sad sad sad
Yes, especially internationally (not talking makes the characters play equally well all over the world). There are quite a few Tom & Jerry videos on YouTube which have well over 100 million views; the most popular video has had 574million views in three years! shareMy son (11) and his friends love it, and have for years. They even like the old stuff, which blows my mind. I liked Underdog, Flintstones and Rocky and Bullwinkle which were way before my time, so I guess some things are timeless.
shareIt's possible to enjoy a movie made 100 years ago. They never are "Irrelevant". The reason they're on film is so they can be seen after the time they were made. Otherwise they'd just be stage plays.
shareI bought the DVD set of Tom and Jerry and introduced it to my young kids. They quickly became fans!
shareYES...PEOPLE LIKE ME,WHO GREW UP WITH THEM SHOW THE EPISODES TO OUR KIDS...MY DAUGHTER JUST TURNED 13 AND SHE HAS SEEN HOURS AND HOURS OR TOM & JERRY.
shareI guess it's been 2 or so years, but I know they used to play the old episodes on one of those kids channels every morning.
