Sexy Joaquin!
Loved that seeing that fat belly of his! Wish he'd shown more of it!

Yes, I've been hearing a lot about this "Dadbod" thing. Nightline or some other program featured a segment on it. Had the nerve to present some 300-lb leviathan as an example of the look! Funny thing is...so many males too young to be dads already have the bod, and then some!
Anyhow, Phoenix has been on the hefty side for some time now. I think he began packing on the pounds after Gladiator, but he may have reached his porkiest in this mockumentary, and I'm lovin' it! It's possible he may have deliberately gained a little extra for the film, just to seem that much more hapless. He's the sort of balls-to-the-wall actor who would go that far. He was slender in To Die For, but that was two decades ago!
Actually, he's usually slim. He was really skinny in The Master. He lost 35lbs for the roll. He was slim in Her, also. I think he uses his weight as part of his character depictions.
He will always have a pot, unless he is truly skinny, because of his posture.

He did go string bean for THE MASTER - I'd forgotten that picture - but his physique was decidedly average in HER. Definitely thick 'n juicy in TWO LOVERS, the film that convinced me I could enjoy a boy-meets-girl romance. He clearly enjoys food. Do you like Joaquin?
shareHe is currently my favorite actor. I don'like every film he's in, but I usually enjoy his performances.

Yes, he's a magnificent actor. But I meant "like" in a different way.
shareDo I want to jump his bones? No.
He is attractive, though. He has one of the most expressive faces I've ever seen.

I like his beefy midsection best! Looking forward to seeing him in that new Woody Allen flick. I'm watching his sister Rain right now in HARRY AND MAX.
shareYou know, I was looking at some stills from the film and his belly isn't protruding in all of them. I think he is pushing it out for the scenes in which he is depressed and then goes back to normal when his character perks up.
What a funny topic.
"a malcontent who knows how to spell"
That may be the case.
