Why is this movie so damn slow?
There are so many long, pointless, drawn out scenes. I'm totally fine with movies taking my time, but there was so much time wasted for no reason.

This isn't Ari Aster.
shareI noticed that too and remarked on it in my head, but I liked it. Sometimes too much gore/action can get a bit mind numbing and dilutes the creep factor. The slow kind of movies I hate are the ones that go on and on and on and on and on and there's no payoff at all or the payoff is in the very last 10 minutes. This had a nice slow buildup that had some nice scenes in between the buildup. I like the way it was done. Believe it or not, I would have still liked the movie had they just made it as a straight-up drama without any horror in it at all.
shareIt felt like a director's cut. It just felt like they were extending it just to make it a feature length film.
shareTi West edits all his films alongside directing and writing. He's producing them now too. Fancies himself as a one man army.
X is actually the only film he's made where he had a co-editor (some random dude who edits tv shows) and funnily enough this is Ti Wests best edited film and probably the fastest paced one. Quite telling.
