How many cast members?
For a movie that has only 2 people waking up early there are an awful lot of people in it. Do the other cast members just lay there snoring?

I would say so.
They used extras (cheap) or dummies (ever cheaper) just CGI (probably the cheapest solution). They had to make a lot of savings to compensate JL's salary :)
