It ended too quickly once we see that the Avalon reached Homestead 2. What happened to their bodies? Did they have children? Grandchildren? It's almost like the filmmakers just wanted it to hurry up and end at that point. Really liked the movie, but the very end was a tad abrupt.
shareI to wonder if they had children, grandchildren. It i nice to think that they did. Also I was wondering if there were any children on board.
shareI doubt thay have any as there might not be enough food for the other passengers and crew when they wake up.
shareA guy did the math on that in another thread. Considering the food supply was for 258 crew, awoken 1 month before everyone else, so 258 x 5 months + 5000 passengers x 4 months + redundancy would be enough food for one person to last 2000 years divided by 2 gives 1000 years food supply for a 88 year journey so even with 10 kids it would have lasted them. Add to that they seemed to have grown and harvested food and animals to eat so a couple of kids would not have strained the food supply.
shareThat's very interesting to know, assuming the calculations are correct. I also wondered if they had kids; it would have made sense if they did.
sharethere might not be enough food

Children yes, grandchildren no. Ewwwww no.
shareI know a sequel is probably not going to happen, but it would've been nice to have a montage of how they spent their lives over Aurora's narration and maybe the song 100 Years...
shareGrandchildren? Who are the children supposed to *beep*, eachother?
Or are you sayig they should selfishly wake up a few more people for their childrens?
Would be very selfish in the first place to even have children.
Who are the children supposed to *beep*, eachother?
Grandchildren? LOL!!! Hey sis, looking mighty fine today...
As for the bodies. One of them obviously died first, so the other would have given the other a "space burial" like they did with the captain. If this happened after a long and happy life on the ship, the surviving one might well have decided that there is nothing left to live for and commit suicide by joining the deaceased one in space without a suit.
Grandchildren? WTF?
shareThey had grandchildren. Just when the movie ended, a three eyed hunchback came up to the captain and slurred "Hiyall, im Sam! I like cookies! This is my sister and wife!"
shareThey could be in a lot of places. It's a big ship. Were there any robots who might have disposed of them somehow?
shareTheir bodies were probably there, but there was no reason to show them in the movie.
shareWhen they both got really old, one of them should have got in the medical pod so at least one could see the Homestead place. Kind of silly they didn't do that but instead both chose to die on the ship. One of them would have died first anyway, so even more silly they didn't do that.
shareMy guess is they both squeezed into the AutoDoc Cryostasis pod, and are alive, well, and young, by the time they reach Avalon.
shareYou missed it, a skeleton was in that tree at the end.
