the bloody coffin scene - contains spoilers
The scene with the mini, bloody coffin makes no sense.
Robert receives a small package in the mail which his daughter hands to him. When Robert takes the package to his kitchen sink he opens the package to find a small, coffin soaked in blood.
We find out soon afterwards in a following scene that Roberto Alcaino confirms that this was Pablo Escobar's calling card.
If this was sent by Pablo Escobar that would mean that Roberts cover was blown as it was sent to his home address where his real life wife and family live. It would have meant that that the drug cartels would have found out that Kathy Ertz wasn't Roberts wife at all, and that Evelyn was.
An undercover agent would not be living with his real wife and family during such a massive operation. This also calls into question when he was being followed whilst out jogging near his home. This also would have been an indication that his cover had been blown. Why wasn't Robert and Kathy set up in a false home together at least to keep continuity of their operation?
This was a very poor part in the writing of this film.
Also it was never made clear who killed Ospina on the dance floor. Ospina upon seeing the false part of Roberts brief case reveal the hidden tape recorders would have been singing that to his partners in crime poste haste. Also at the beginning of the film those tape recorders appeared to have been hidden within the case itself not behind a flimsy buttoned down flap!
Disappointed in this film over all I found it rather weak.
