Alaska calling Jinkx a Weirdo

In the promos for the final episode (and in the ten minute preview clip), Alaska separates herself from Rolaskatox saying that "the last time it was us three against a lovable weirdo, look how well that turned out".

I'm an Alaska fan, but her behavior lately irks me. Jink deserved to win, it wasn't about her being a misfit, but about her being most talented of that group.

And Alaska is arguably much more of a weirdo than Jinkx.

It's sad to see her ridicule colleague because she's feeling threatened. She's acting so entitled.

Alaska has no room to call anyone a weirdo. I'm a fan of hers but I couldn't stand her this season. Her behavior was off the wall and she plays dirty.

The "freak out" last week was worth recording along with Ru putting Rolaskatoxx under the microscope during their meet/greets! Alaska was stressing something fierce and it was hilarious to watch! 

She used the word weirdo because detox had just called katya a weirdo. The thought of her losing again in the same situation was probably eating away at her. She knows how damaging rolaskatox was the first time around and she freaked to think she was about to lose out again.

My thought is that she's mistaken in thinking the clique kept her from winning--she didn't win because she wasn't the best.

Something came to mind after I watched this episode: in Season 5, when Alaska showed up, the others were grilling her about how she felt about Sharon's winning.

She said then that she felt betrayed and bitter beyond belief because she had been trying out for so long and Sharon tried out once and was selected. And then mitigated it by saying when the promo aired, she felt nothing but proud of Sharon. But Alyssa pressed the point by asked that since both were artists, wasn't it extra difficult - and Alaska talked about how viciously they had fought, as they were two huge egos. In All Stars 2, I agree with the poster who pointed out Alaska's sense of entitlement.

When Chad won All Stars Season 1, there was the same feeling on the board that the season was "structured" for Chad to win; and now it appears the same way - if Alaska should have won Season 5 (not to me, I'm a Jinkx fan, always have been and will be) - which would have sparked an outcry anyway, many of us are feeling the same way now.

I usually get the seasons through iTunes so I can rewatch them. I love drag queens and the true art of so much of drag (mostly old school).

Season 3 had an "extra" episode called "Casting Extravaganza" which had clips from submission videos and actual auditions. Detox's audition interview was interesting: between that point in time and now, there is not much evidence of change. Alaska is featured a lot on this extra, talking about auditioning so many times. It's a great episode because you can see a lot of queens who showed up in later seasons (Penny Tration, Dax!, and Katya to name a few).

Alaska is very talented and creative - but the ego and inability to handle not always being in the winners' circle the one time she was in the bottom 2 was completely uncalled for. That meltdown was ridiculous and looked a bit staged - they needed Alaska to show as the "Season 5 Roxxxy" of All Stars.

Roxxxy mainly used this as a vehicle to show how she had changed since Season 5, because of the backlash from her treatment of Jinkx. But it was still a Roxxxy Andrews project as she called it - outside of attitude, there was not much change from her season.

I was rooting for Katya but I knew she had no chance but she had a good run. I wonder if Alyssa had not been eliminated, would she have won this? And would most of us be saying that it also was structured for her to win? We'll never know.

She's not ridiculing her... someone like Jinkx would probably use the phrase 'weirdo' themselves.

-_- This Alaska backlash is getting beyond...

It'll never be as bad as Roxxxy's! Honey, she was about as popular as swine flu for a while a few years ago! I don't follow drag that much, but it was making the main stream; the animus people had for Roxxxy because of how Jinkx was bullied was palpable! It got so ugly, Miss Monsoon had to write an "open" letter and beg people to get over it; she had and they were besties now! Roxxxy might have had an unfortunate accident if Jinkx hadn't intervened! It was ugly there for a while after season 5! I reveled in it along with Michelle Visage if I remembered to check her online show! Is it still going? It's been years; I'm so over that b!tch! 

I was particularly put off by that, especially when Alaska didn't seem particularly happy about Roxxxy giving Jinkx hell for being a "misfit" in S5.

I love Alaska, but I was so disappointed to see her play the game as dirty as she did. I know stress can make you do a lot of out there *beep* especially with that much money at risk, but still. It was a bit shocking to see a fellow weirdo sink that low. But, I will say, Katya handled Alaska's little "Adore" comment flawlessly.
