I know this film is based on the french film "Natalie" from 2003. But it also reminded me so much of the film Posion Ivy with Drew Barrymore. Chloe falls out of the window in the house, just like Ivy did. Chloe also tried to bond with everyone in the family and perhapss also tear it up like Ivy did. All in all, I thought this was an exremely peculiar film lacking explanations for many things.

The audience was not meant to be passive; the intent was that we think about the meaning of certain things -- symbolic things -- archetypes.
I think the film is allegorical, and the explanations are not lacking, but are in the symbolic meanings. In my town, it played in the art house theater because it's a work of art to be interpreted.

shareIt may follow a storyline that is similar to other films but it's different. The little details, careful cinematography, hidden meanings, symbolism and fine/sensitive acting make a big difference. I enjoyed it a great deal and it has become a fave of mine.
