The house was beautiful, but it didn't seem particularly HUGE or anything, and it's shown that David has a home office,Catherine could have had a home office too The master bedroom/en suite probably takes up an entire side of the houses upper level and the house was pretty open concept, so it could easily be a 3/4 bedroom house with the spare rooms used as offices instead of bedrooms . They may not have had enough overnight company to warrant having a guest bedroom.
It's realistic.
The house is awful! Looks like a museum or a giant cube. Modern style sucks.

I hated the house! Modern/contemporary that extreme is a very "cold" look. Some people love it -- I know a German couple who long to live in a Bauhaus stye home.
Not me. I like "cosy" modern, to coin a phrase.
