Chloe is the victim

Chloe was craving for love, and as sexual love was the only kind of love she knew, she tried to make herself loved by that. She was the victim here. Catherine was much older, and a doctor, she should have seen her fragile situation, she should have been more like a mother figure, helped her maybe, instead of dumping her like that. So Chloe jumps and everything is ok?

I think the idea that powers Chloe's sacrifice is that Chloe's love will never leave Catherine. Catherine wears the hair pin as if it were a relic. In the final scene, it is Chloe who is actually closer to Catherine than either Michael or David.

I don't think so. Chloe was psychotic. I'm surprised she didn't stab Michael with that hair whatever-it-was after she had sex with him.

No.

That's not really what's going on here. No one would keep and then wear a present from a unbalanced, lying prostitute. Chloe is not at all what she appears to be.

We'll just have to disagree about that. I don't think Catherine's actions are indicative of Chloe's state of mind.

I'd never turn my back on Chloe unless I was in a house of mirrors.

But surely the Catherine's action must make sense.

Why does she keep the hairpin given to her by a crazy whore?

Also, why does Catherine look younger at the end? Why does she have her hair up in the end, when she had put it down earlier to be more attractive to her husband?

so your "logic" is this: she kept the pin, therefore chloe wasn't psychologically unbalanced.

it's left ambiguous, but it's more likely she kept it because she didn't want her memory to fade away. it was done out of empathy.

none of this suggests anything about chloe's state of mind however, but the fact that she's crazy is easily observed by anyone paying attention.

Again, no one would keep the gift from a lying, manipulative whore. It's logical that Catherine would not flaunt her affair by wearing the pin in front of her husband, assuming that she wanted to repair the marriage.

Catherine keeps the pin for other reasons.

"...the fact that she's crazy is easily observed by anyone paying attention."

This is certainly the most facile interpretation, but again, it is at odds with Catherine's retention of the gift, and her revitalized appearance.

Be careful. Youd be an easy target for a little sociopath like her.. This girl has attachment issues, but she is malicious. Juliane did reach out to her slightly with that maternal instinct, and this chick picked it up right away, latched on to that and saw it as a weakness to prey on. It worked.

Chloe was not evil or a psycho. She had issues but so did Catherine. Chloe wanted to love and be loved.

Not even close. You must not know any psychopaths. Lucky you! Psychopaths don't love anyone. They're not capable of it. They're also manipulative. Someone who wants to love and be loved does no lie about an affair in order to ruin someone's marriage. PSYCHOPATH.
