Chloe, whether immediately or otherwise, succumbed from her injuries in the fall as I firmly believe EMS personnel (nitrile blue gloves and reflective stripes on their uniforms) carted away her body from the scene to take it to the morgue while a few detectives were concluding their investigation.
It is unlikely that Catherine was charged because being that Micheal witnessed everything, Catherines' neck injury coincided with both of their accounts of what happened. It could be construed that the incident was self-defense, but Chloe didn't have the hairpin (or whatever it's called) to Catherines' neck at the moment before she was inadvertently pushed into the window. I guess we'll never know if Chloes' death was indeed ruled accidental or an act of self-defense.
Micheal probably disliked his mother, but he wouldn't lie to pin a murder on Catherine in order not to jeopardize his relationship with David. He was obviously upset to see his mother to be physically threatened by Chloe. He may have hated his mother, but methinks he hated Chloe more for obviously using him to get to his mom.
I wonder how Catherine ended up with the hairpin because it would be deemed as evidence in a self-defense plea.
