Screening tonight
Anyone saw it? What did you think? I loved the script but I have this feeling the film won't live up to it.

The movie was one of the best comedies I've seen in a while.
Mildly subversive, the butter sculptures are a scream ("a version of da Vinci's Last Supper that is said to be better than the original!")
Stunning performance by Garner - definitely Oscar material.
Great screenplay.

Great movie!
Great screenplay!
Olivia totally rocked the movie for me.
Jen Garner actually gives a decent performance and some nice F-bombs. Haha
Hugh Jackman was great even if it was just a cameo.
Loved it. Totally wasn't expecting much though, and I got more than an entertaining film in return (and I paid a pretty dollar for this movie too). I really appreciate original films, and this is an original film worth watching.
Hugh Jackman was amazing as that car salesman, absolutely fantastic.
hmm I wonder if they edited it down since last winter, the version I saw was 100% clearly headed for an R rating, i hope that doesn't mean they changed it all up too since then, i really liked the cut they had it down to by late last winter
Oscar noms? Are you kidding? It was just another rude, crude comedy, just like all the other rude, crude comedies that are made lately. They tried to give it some heart with the foster child story, but it just didn't gel with all the sex and swearing. And why is it funny and stretching as an actress when a "good girl" (Garner here and Jennifer Aniston in 'Horrible Bosses') chooses a role where she swears. Hugh Jackman was wasted (and frankly embarrassing). Another film I never would have seen if not for TIFF.
I'm not a total prude. Don't even blink at swearing in Scorsese or Tarantino films. And for an example of a recent comedy (okay, mixed with drama) that works, how about "Win Win"?
Yes, sir, I'm going to do nothing like she's never been done before!
oh come on, it had a lot more going for it than the some pure rude crude raunch comedy
audience was going crazy for it, at least the version of it they had last winter
Saw the film at Telluride Film Festival, it's a hoot. Jennifer Garner is a frightening image of Michelle Bachmann. This film was concieved and filmed long before MB was on anyone's radar screen.Filmmakers wasn't even thinking about MB when they made this, how fiction can be so close to reality when you don't even plan on it. Who thought butter carving could be so much fun, Oliva Wilde hits one out of the park. With so many serious, deeep films at TFF, this film was perfect to lighten the mood up, it worked.
