He lives in a townhouse, his wife raids supermarket, his daughter has loads of cash and they are running for Governor of Iowa and he doesnt has $600 to pay olivia wilde? I liked this movie but that was one glaring plot hole!

He says his wife controls the money, but that could be an excuse. He just didn't want to pay her.

Pay her once and he could set up for blackmail. That is what it seemed like besides just not wanting to give her money for no reason.
