This movie absolutely sucked. Everything about it screamed amateur. Pointless voiceover that adds nothing to the script? Check. Character arcs that you can see coming from a mile away? Check. Little kids who both sound and act like adults? Check.
I could keep going but this is just getting depressing. The only positives it has is the good cast and its better then cop out (another black list script). Save your time/money/bandwith.
You sound like a screenwriter who can't get anyone to look at anything you've written, probably because all of your "scripts" suck aloud. "Bitter, party of one, your table is ready."
Opinions about films will vary widely. Yours is clearly negative in this case. I found the film very funny, brilliant satire. Perhaps you don't grasp satire.
I saw it in a room filled with film critics. Usually such audiences don't laugh much, even at funny comedies. There was a lot of laughter in that room, that was because of humorous material on screen.
Take your bitterness and your useless checklist and go find other movies to hate.

I tend to agree with sleepy_head on this one. I chuckled the whole way through this movie and found it refreshing compared to today's cookie cutter comedies.

The demographic for this filmis 13-18. So if you're in the demographic, and you found it funny and brilliant, then the film is a success.

I saw it a few years ago (I don't know how much, if any, they changed it since the first 'finished' cut) and there was a lot of laughing going on throughout.
