My thoughts and observations (spoilers)

I enjoyed the show overall since I like shows that combine various genres. This show combines elements of mystery, horror, teen drama and comedy. It's not the Addams Family that I remember from the 60's TV show BUT I never read the comics or watched the modern movies. The show reminds me of a twisted version of Harry Potter and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

The Wednesday character is not likeable so I don't think the character can carry the show. It was also disturbing when Wednesday dropped piranhas in the pool and enthusiastically talked about killing and torturing people. Yuck! The other kids at the school have personality so they keep the show interesting. Wednesday is a Mary Sue devoid of personality and emotion. I found it to be annoying when a teenage girl can fix espresso machines, speak Italian and German, do archery trick shots, use martial arts to beat up three guys and has an encyclopedic knowledge of plants.

I hated to see Gwendolyn Christie's character die in the show since she was one of my favorite characters in Game of Thrones. I actually would have preferred to see the principal pick up the sword to take on the demon. I also didn't like seeing Uncle Fester portrayed as a criminal on the run who is a suspect in a bank robbery. Uncle Fester was weird on the 60's show but he wasn't a criminal.

Some of the social justice lectures might be annoying for some. It's a Netflix show so I have come to expect some social justice themes. Wednesday rails against the patriarchy and colonialism.

Compliance is subservience.

yeah the social justice warrior shit was annoying but overall the show was so great I was able to overlook it. Uncle Fester being a criminal doesnt bother me in the slightest since Adams family members love mischief and trouble. Bank robbery is a romantic crime and nothing super fucked up making me dislike the character. What did piss me off the most about Fester was the actor playing him wasnt fat enough. Fester should be fatter than Gomez at least! he is only slightly fat in this and that pissed me off. Also, i never liked Portlandia so that actor double pissed me off since he wasnt funny or fat. Biggest disappointment and really only one was Fester

It's interesting that people are complaining about the casting choices. I'm just glad Fester was white since Netflix likes to swap genders and races. Somebody was even complaining about Catherine Zeta Jones BUT I'd watch her in anything.

You might be right that bank robbery is a romantic crime but I'm always concerned about collateral damage. Bank tellers could be killed by a stray bullet.

I personally love Gomez choice even tho majority seems to dislike it. Short fat ugly but charming is the way Gomez was always supposed to be

Disturbing? That was the only amazing part of the show. Unfortunately over after less than 5 minutes. Then the show moved downhill...

I grew up watching the reruns of the 60's show and the 60's Addams family was wacky BUT they were not EVIL. I would consider the act of putting piranhas in a pool to be attempted murder and I find that to be objectionable. The 60's show was a sanitized primetime PG comedy that wouldn't have anything controversial so that may not adhere to the comics or the movies.

The TV Addams are more charming and likeable without doubt.

I am inclined to agree that scene was the best. I also enjoyed the Fester interpretation
