Why is american television like this?
I mean, no american parties like this ( of course there are parties crazier then this in america, that's obvious), yet in movies they show how numbfk stupid and ridicolous it is. There are shows that show it quite accurate how pa party is like. Why is it so colorful. Is it made that US society should think a party is? I know it isn't like this and even if it did - it's a crap party. Proably american people party just like us, in europe, yet for 10-20 years the movies show otherwise. Why? To make the society feel special? Extraordinary? No clue about how the alcohol works, and what is more, how the actual so called "drugs" work. Are people in US that retarded? I don't think so (and yes, i know it's a comedy show). An yes, watch the UK skins (and yes i have plenty more examples and i know this is a poor example as a whole, but US tv made a remake of it! and it is fkin stupid!). Your country is censored like hell! America fk yeah. It all looks shiny and perfect but it's *beep* I'm not generalising. I'm not in US so i dont care obviously but every goverment is "footsteping" it. The world is not collapsing. It has collapsed already.

I look at this show as a spoof series. An over the top version of College Life all the way around, from sports, to class, to parties. From what I heard about the US version of Skins I do agree w/ OP on that. The US is very tame where tv is concerned. They've gotten a little more lax on cable television such as HBO & Showtime. Even this show on the Spike Network. A few years ago language & the brief bits of nudity would NEVER have been tolerated on a basic cable channel.
