So who's decision was it to

fire Sam from the show? I realize he was written off (I think he transferred to a new school), but did Chris Romano have any say in anything? Or was it the possibly the network or producers of the show? It seemed like Sam had a good rapport with the rest of the cast, though. I haven't seen anything after the first episode of season 2, because it looked like the show was getting stale, but not because of Thad. Thad and Harmon are probably the two funniest characters on the show.

Pretty sure he was written off because he was arrested for possession with intent to distribute. I also think I read he is currently serving a year in federal prison. I liked the character he played as well but can't say I blame them for this decision. Wouldn't really matter anyway since he's currently locked up.

yeah, i knew that, forgot to mention that in my post. But he was fired before his sentencing. With celebrites getting preferential treatment with the law, it could can have been possible for him to get probation.

I know Sam's life has been crazy but I really did enjoy him on the show. I think it would be great if they brought him back next year (if it's possible). Shiloh was a great character to play off of Thad & Alex. It's a shame Sam made such bad choices costing him that job.

Mary Jo's been in a couple of eps this season but I noticed they took her off the opening credits. Guess they don't want as much of her this time around.

Sam was fired because of the arrest. There are a number of reasons why he probably couldn't have come back even though he hadn't been sentenced yet. First, the show is filmed in Canada and I doubt he'd get permission to leave the country. Second, you don't really want to write scripts and plan on filming somebody who might get sent to jail in the middle of shooting. That would get stupid expensive.

Hasn't he been sentenced? I thought I read/heard somewhere that he was to serve a year. Any idea on when that will be over?
