Series finale?
I just watched the final episode of season three, and it REALLY felt like a series finale. I can't find anything about a fourth season being announced. Was that the end?

shareI thought the same thing. And if there is a fourth season it won't be announced for awhile since season 3 was announced 3 months after 2 ended.
shareSure as hell felt like the end. Of course, Alex was only a Junior so they might renew for a 4th season.

What about Thad he is a senior, how will he come back for another season. The whole season finale episode felt like a send off. Thad winning the "big game" Alex finally excepting his role as the starting quarterback. I mean I really like the show but where do they go from here???
shareCoach Marty takes over as an NFL coach, signs Thad, not sure on the rules regarding Moran getting drafted early?
sharethad could always fail his finals and stay for another year.

The first season was amazing but the last two were good. The second season felt like family guy, with a lot of inconsistencies. For instance, I thought in the first season Thad was a Junior on the football field, therefore he could only play one more year (as Alex's Sophomore season should have been Thad's senior year). The only exception would be if Thad had red shirted his Freshmen year or medical red shirted his sophomore year.
Also, the Pocket P*ssy was burned in one of the first few episode of Season 2.
I didn't like how they ended Season 1 (without showing the bowl game) but I understand if they couldn't afford to fill a stadium up with 70,000+ fans to feature the Cypress Bowl.
The only references you got about the bowl game was when Alex and Thad talked about their "crappy play" in the bowl game which Alex blames it on broken ribs suffered from Thad's idea of driving a van into the stairs of the police station where they were holding Craig.
That brings me to another point, I won't blame it on the producers but I find it ironic that they hired the 30 year old Sam Jones III who ended up pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges and then fired him... when the show itself is about doing drugs, females, and football.
Yeah, it really felt like a Series Finale but so did the last episode of Californication and that's getting another season too. I can see a way for the series to continue. Thad goes on to play in the NFL but hangs out with the BMS team all the time,I mean he's gotta be welcome in the Goat House anytime right? He just won't be playing in the games. After season 4 ends, Moran and the crew finish it with BMS and go PRO as well. Daniels gets a job as an NFL coach and takes everyone in, trading someone for Thad. Only problem now is that the name BMS doesn't have any relevance.
Another thing they can do is take the South Park direction. What I mean is, one season doesn't have mean 1 year. Those kids in Southpark have been the same age for like 12 years now right? :D No reason they can't do the same on BMS, I doubt it will last so long that the actors would get too old for their character age.
I really hope there's at least one more season, but like you said it really felt like a series finale. And I might be wrong but I don't think they've had an episode that long before. Can't find anything about a season 4 yet but really hope there will be.
shareIt was weird. Felt like the first episode ever to have any real heart in it. Very well done, well shot especially. It's almost like they went out of their way to put extra effort into the episode.
Hope it's back.

Well it was directed by Bill S. Preston, Esq...
shareIf they do another season Thad gets hurt and comes back as a Grad Assistant.
shareIt sure felt like it.
I hope the show comes back, but if it doesn't I will be satisfied. It was a good ending if it's truly the end.
I always assumed Thad would become a coach to get at least one more season in. Whether because of injury or any other reason. You could even insert a storyline where Thad went to the NCAA board to gain an extra year of eligibility because of a freshmen medical redshirt or something. Would fans really care why Thad is back as long as the show kept going? I also thought Moran diagramming those plays could be foreshadowing him becoming a coach in the future.
I now see an opportunity for two more seasons. I like a scenario where the key players are suspended for the entire next season. I kinda thought Sammy taking the picture of them partying would lead to the picture and/or other pictures getting leaked and piling onto the other allegations and they all get suspended. So season 4 is an entire season without football, could suck but better than nothing. Thad becomes undraftable due to all his off the field problems. Returns as a coach for season 5, the final season of BMS.
Culminating in a national championship of course...
Real good way to end the show if that was the series finale
shareSaw on some of the actors twitter account when the show aired they wanted to do a season 4 so I'm thinking there will be another season since BMS is their most talked about show as it was compared to Its Always Sunny and the fact that the UFC is leaving Spike is going to leave them a spot on their schedule
sharei read somewhere that it will be another season. It will start in 2012 :D
