A similarity between this and After Earth (2013)
I noticed something somewhat similar between these movies and the Will Smith movie After Earth (2013). In the movie, an Alien Civilization creates creatures that hunt by pheromones to terrorize and kill all humans trying to colonize distant worlds.
These Quiet Place creatures might have been created as well.
