Is it the translation or is the story just poorly explained?

For the second and third movie, it just seems like quite some parts of the story were left unexplained. Zalachenko seems to be the one behind Dag and Mia's deaths but nothing in the subtitle indicate that Zala is linked to the human trafficking ring. And there was never any compelling reason as to why Zalachenko murdered Bjurman. The entire "Section" is hell-bent on protecting and covering-up for an ex-spy who has long out-lived his usefulness. A good part of the third movie is set on "the Section", but nothing incriminating is really discovered and all in a sudden the members are arrested.

Am I the only one missing it?

Meanwhile a lot of pointless scenes were taken. Bublanski is shown to be Jewish, as evident in the synagogue scene and the menora in his office but nothing developed. Niedermann and the biker's appearance in the third movie could have been greatly reduced considering they had nothing to do with the main plot.

In the book, Bublanski has a lot bigger role as he is in charge of the investigation and comes around to believing what Mikael has dug up.

As regards Bjurman killing, the movie follows the book. Watch in the beginning after Neidermann goes to Bjurman asking for his report on Lisbeth and Bjurman wants the dvd she has. Zala doesn't want to negotiate and leave any loose ends so Bjurman is toast. My only problem is why Neidermann would use Bjurman's gun for all three murders because he has no idea Lisbeth's prints are on it. Wouldn't he have his own gun or just use his hands?

And the book goes into much more detail about the human trafficking Zala was responsible for and how the section covered for him. Mikael had gotten info from Gunnar Björck in the second book and that was what the section took from Mikael and his sister. And after the initial theft at Mikael's apartment, Milton had installed the cameras and caught the section planting evidence. By showing Teleborian's complicity in committing Lisbeth is tied together for the arrests.

As much as I like all three movies, you really have to read the books to plug any holes you find in the movie plot.
