Why no justice for the corrupt DA?

The DA stymied the investigation at every turn for The Section goons. Any resolution on that prick in the book that wasn't shown in the movie?

He didn't do anything illegal. He just didn't push too hard and accepted everything that was handed to him (unethical, yes, but not illegal).

But accepting everything that was handed to him by the wrong authority wouldn't make him an accomplice at least?

In my opinion, Eckstrom was simply incompetent and in way over his head. He was spoon fed data which made it appear he could get a quick conviction in the trial of the century.

It was not up to the tribunal to judge and punish Ekstrom's actions, so they had nothing to do with it. He probably did get some punishment, specially because everyone in the Cabinet from the PM and down were involved in promoting the investigation.
