I didn't get this guy. I didn't understand his motivation for wanting to kill Lisbeth (especially after her father had died) and all the other people he killed. Was he just a psychopathic murderer who did it for fun?

Bjurman knew too much.

His father most likely ingrained in his head a hate for Lisbeth, and he was also embarrassed that he ran away when she was in the barn at the end of Played with Fire.

If I remember correctly...In the book, Niedermann's very superstitious and he thought Lisbeth was a ghost...

lol what a silly story, meh these books get too much credit, the story is actually a mess.
