How did Neiderman know...........

.....that Lisbeth would turn up at the brick factory? Or was it just a co-incidence and he was only using that location as a place to stay?

reply

I would say it was just a coincidence. :-)

I think it was a regular hideout used by Niedermann (his Dada bought it for just such a purpose.

When Lisbeth heard about it in her dad's estate it stood out like a sore thumb, hence her comment, expression and desire to investigate.

I don't think Niedermenn was particularly expecting her.

reply

He didn't know he was hiding out there as he couldn't leave the country because the police were watching the ports.

Lisbeth went there to look around as there was something strange but she was not looking for Neiderman or expecting to find him there.

reply

and there just happened to be a working air compressor to power the nail gun?

reply

Well, in the book it was an electric gun and Lisbeth was hiding under a workbench with a lot of tools besides the nail gun. I'll give the movie a pass on simplifying this plot point.

reply

Its just a coincidence. In the book, he tells her he had planned to take her out but that he was fortunate she fell right into his lap by unexpectedly showing up at the factory.

Gordon: I never said thank you.
Batman: And you'll never have to.

Just to be more specific, in the book, when Anikka show her the papers of her father's buildings, she sees the description of the brick factory and gets curious, because it says that the brick factory was renovated, they added electricity and such things, but no one used that place, so she went to look the place, and happens what happens, she finds her brother hiding by merely accident.
