Stupid thought but how....

did she get her punky clothes, makeup and jewelry to wear in court? She actually ashked her lawyer to bring them from her apt? lol

I guess she must have

And would Swedish courts/ prisons allow someone to wear such spikes and chains that could be used as weapons?

reply

The book states that it was a part of the defense strategy, all the news described her as a satanic lesbian, so, if she appeared on court using regular clothes, they could think that she was the regular guilty prisioner trying to sell an image, so they did exactly the opposit of it.

Thanks but my question was not why, but how....

It's not a stupid thought. I had a vauge memory that Annika Giannini, Blomkvist sister and Salander's defence lawyer, was the one who got Salander her clothes and make-up for the trial. I just checked the book and it never says how, it says "Suddenly he (Blomkvist) realized that it wasn't a coincidence, but part of Annika's strategy".

Annika Giannini and Salander became friends, so I took it for granted that she was the one.

It's funny how the lawyer knew exactly what to bring

reply

LOL, I'm not sure why you'd make it so difficult. Salander was behind bars and Mimmi was in Paris. The Evil Fingers was not an option to help her either, since Lisbeth never wanted to reveal her backstory to them. And she hasn't seen Blomkvist in six months.

I think it's pretty safe to say that she wrote Giannini a list of the clothes she wanted and gave her the key to the apartment. I bet she even told Giannini in which drawers the clothes were.
