The End

What was that? Why change the last scene that way? It's a dramatic change compared to what happened in the book.

I hated that last scene - how was it supposed to end? I haven't read the books.

Lisbeth let Mikael in.

I just finished the movies and yeah very disappointing.

Why did she push him away at the end and avoid him completely? There was no insight on this. He genuinely cared about her. Maybe she felt he already knew too much anout her than she wanted anyone to know?

She was very empathetic and loving to her old guardian and she clearly cared about Michael too. Maybe because of how quick he ran back to his girlfriend after they stayed in the cottage together on the island?

I would have preferred the book ending where she lets him in. However, we don't know the inner thoughts of Lisbeth based on the way the movie played out. He stood at the door and she "made the first move" by thanking him. Certainly from her life it's hard for her to fully trust men even it is him who had proven multiple times how much he cares for her. But I would have hoped he opened up more and was more obvious about his feelings toward her. She struggles with social etiquette and opening up already and simply retreats if a situation is uncomfortable. Based on that scene, I guess that ending works. There is still the hint of a possibility when they say they'll keep in touch. That can go either way.
