good movie, one major mistake (spoiler)

it always makes me wonder why a movie has a character make a glaring error. in this case Steve uses a credit card at the restaurant. I find it hard to believe that a serial killer would be so clumsy. I know they needed a plot point to get Molly to find Steve's ID and have the bartender get involved as well, but they could have accomplished this is some other manner.

I really did enjoy the movie, well acted with good chemistry between Noa and Steve.

Yeah I said exactly the same thing to the Mrs.

Another cliché that I hate is when they incapacitate the bad guy and instead of finishing him off, they run and give him a chance to recover.

Never underestimate the value of the double tap!

It’s an unbelievable reaction if you think about it yet it shows up in most thrillers.
Clunk the bastard over the head a few more times to be sure, you are going to be charged anyway.

‘Oh my gosh, this violent lunatic tried to kill me, I got the upper hand but I knocked him out! I’ll just drop the hammer/screwdriver/wood plank and slowly walk away…I’m safe now’

So stupid, bust his melon wide open. I’ll see the maniac go to the morgue and I’ll see you in court.

And it's in every... single... freaking horror movie and soap opera. It's soooooooo freaking aggravating!!

Ohhh my god, I can't help but yell and swear at the screen every goddamn time this happens in any movie!!

In this one I was just pissed off. The main girl could've killed him in the bedroom (and really many times before that). Then in the kitchen, Mollie hits him twice with the meat tenderizer, but she should've just kept clobbering him! Buuut of course she didn't. Then Penny stabs him once. Just so many times that any of them could've and should've kept going and didn't... I was pissed.

And then when Noa shoots him in the face while he's lying on the ground defenseless, that was just stupid.
But, again, that only matters if there's any sort of police involvement.

I really try to like these kinds of movies, and I really did like this one when I wasn't yelling at every character for being so fucking goddamn stupid at every turn. But I just cannot suspend my disbelief to the extent that these movies want me to.

If Mollie had gone to the cops in the first place and they iust didn't take her seriously (which, sadly, does happen in real life) then the rest wouldn't have been so frustrating.
But every single time that I think someone will call the cops, they never do.

Whew. Sorry for the rant.
I was torn between liking the movie in general but then hating just about every one of the characters lol

Another was when he was using her phone to text Mollie while he was at his family home. The cops could ping that and zero in eventually. That may or may not have led to anything. But it's still a stupid thing to do on his part.

I thought the same thing (about major screwups) when we saw him licking the envelopes to send with the meat and items of the girl(s).

Of course that would've only mattered if *anyone at all had involved the fucking cops*.
