I will admit that I never was a musical fan but in terms of movie that was a big fail for me. The actors were so bad, the songs forgettable and the humor was NOT funny. I fell asleep twice during the movie...

School of rock, tenacious D and the pick of destiny, airheads... There is not that many rock n roll comedies.

Cruise's Jaxx was the highlight of the movie.

Just a shame that the rest of the characters were annoying.

For another burned out Rock star in the vein of Jaxx, check out Bill Nighy in Still Crazy, playing a better version of the character he played in Love Actually.

I don't think I would use the word "loved" but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I kind of expected it was going to be cheesy, but it ended up being cheesy in a really fun way, and I loved the covers for the most part. The only thing that really dragged it down for me was Julianne Hough as she's not a good actress and I thought her voice was kind of nasally.

me2 - very inspiring. everybody wants to be a rock star, after all! lots of fun, shows current youth culture that there once were record stores... not just downloads on the internet.

I love it as well. To be honest, the lead actors were crap but the rest of the cast more than make up for it. Tom Cruise is simply amazing, paul giamatti is awesome as the oily manager and I really enjoyed Catherine Zeta Jones-s scenes as well. I love the music(80s rock fan), Mary J Blige sends shivers down my spine. I even bought the soundtrack on cd.
